Southeast Asia
The eleven countries of Southeast Asia include; Brunei , Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma), the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam. Southeast Asia has an area of 1.6 million sq miles (4,000,000 km˛). As of 2004, more than 550 million people lived in the region, a fifth of them (110 million) on the Indonesian island of Java (Indonesian: Jawa), area 132,000 square km, has 114 million inhabitants and is the most densely populated island in Indonesia, with 864 people per km˛. If it were a country it would be the second most densely populated country of the world, except for some very small countries (after Bangladesh).
